  2. Now we have had the initial meeting, I venture that we go into the empty classroom.

  3. You have suggested that the solar system could be a topic.

  4. I could see the approach you are using and your teaching aids.

  5. That will enable me to decide what I can bring along to link to 7.

  8. Have pupils access to foam balls of various sizes?  They could have painted them.

  9. What is a planet?

  10. In groups of eight they could hold one planet each and arrange themselves in order.

  11. They could draw a picture such as

  14. Each group could use an A4 (best A3 etc) sheet to depict  sizes and interplanetary distances. 

  15. (This could lead to a fair-weather field exercise to include distance scale.  Much later.)

  16.  I look forward to discussing how best to make a session interesting and useful for the children.
