Dear Dr Partiger                                                                       6 Dec 2020

Omeprazole

Two aims.  1: to secure Omepazole tocover the Xmas/New Year break

2: provide enough info so that you could reply by quick email - alanfharrison@icloud.com

  1. Thank you for prescribing Lansoprazole which I tried for a couple of weeks several weeks ago.  It proved to be unsuccessful. More recently, Omeprazole 20mg plus Gaviscon liquid before bed has has shown success.

  2. On reading the package leaflet, I am aware of long term usage factors.  I reflect on its use about two years ago over a long period concomitant with Citalopram.   Omeprazole side effects as on the leaflet include swallowing problems.  They have been present for several years. (My mother died from such.)

  3. Another side effect is insomnia which affects me say 5/7 but Reynaud toes is the cause.

  4. Given your caution relating to taking Omeprazole and Citalopram in the context of the former perhaps more difficult to replace, is it worth trying another version of the latter, I wonder?

  5. If you decide to prescribe Omeprazole, I hope that sufficient (3 boxes please) will arrive in Charlbury to save reordering a couple of times before the Christmas and New Year period.  I appreciate that if an alternative is prescribed,  it will need a trial.  As I've said before, the azole group has had a hammering sans success.

With grateful thanks for your attention.

Alan Harrison.
